Week 11-Baby is the size of a LIME!!!

Can't believe another week has gone by!!! The weeks are actually flying by!

We had a doctor appointment yesterday.  He gave me a prescription for an anti-nausea medication to use "as I need it".  I'm going to try to as long as I can to not use it.  Any medication I take, the baby takes, so we'll see how long I can go without it.  It is comforting to know I have it, if it gets unbearable.  :)

When it came time for the doctor to find the heartbeat, he couldn't find it.  Naturally, I began to panic.  I felt like my worst fear was coming true.  Josh was so sweet and kept telling me "Everything is OK!"  My doctor offered to give me an ultrasound, just to make sure everything was ok.  Of course, I said "YES PLEASE!"  LOL.  As soon as the baby came up on the monitor, one of its hands shot up and waived at us!!! It was the best feeling ever to see the baby moving.  We got to watch the baby for about 5 minutes.  It was moving SO much! Arms were going crazy and legs were kicking back and forth.  At one point he/she put his/her hand up in its face.  (The ultrasound picture above shows baby's hand above its head.) It's so amazing how much love you can have for this little baby...we had huge smiles on our faces the rest of the day!! They re-measured the baby and I have a new due date.  SEPTEMBER 10th...which is baby's Uncle Tim's birthday! :-)

What started out as a emotional, stressful appointment...ended up being an amazing day! :-)

Week 10-Baby is the size of a PRUNE!!

I am SO happy with my chalkboard!!! It is seriously so simple to make and such a fun way to document my baby bump!

Well, we are a quarter of the way there!!!! This week the baby is the size of a prune.  It is about 1.2 inches long and weighs .14 ounces. In the next three weeks, his/her body length will double! It now has working arm joints and the bones and cartilage are forming. The vital organs are now fully formed and are functioning now. Fingernails and hair are starting to grow (SO CRAZY!). Plus, it's able to swallow and kick, even though I can't feel it. So amazing.

I am still very sick.  This "morning sickness" has shifted to an "all day sickness".  I just try to eat what I can and lay low.  Hoping this passes soon! Jealous of all those moms who NEVER got sick.  I know the end result will be well worth it, but it's no fun.

Our next doctor appointment is next week, hopefully will be able to hear the heartbeat!! That's all for now! :)

Week 8-Baby is the size of a RASPBERRY!

Another week down! This past week has been kind of rough.  I came down with a bad cold.  And the combination of the cold with the morning sickness has been terrible.  And, the morning sickness has now shifted to "nighttime sickness".  I've been fine in the morning, but around 7 or 8 I start feeling really nauseous and end up losing my dinner.  I never thought that "morning" sickness would be this hard.  It's terrible.  I just try to remember that the end result will be SO worth it.  :)

I'm also noticing my sense of smell is SO crazy right now.  Things that didn't bother me before I was pregnant, make me feel sick now.  Specifically, the smell of alcohol. Any scent of booze makes me run for the bathroom. So, I'll just steer clear of the bars.

The baby is growing like crazy right now! This week, his/her taste buds are forming!! The baby weighs in at .04 ounces and is .63 inches long! Even though I can't feel it, the baby is moving its arms and legs like crazy! The fingers and toes are only slightly webbed now and the tail is now completely gone!

Our chalkboard craft went really well! It is just taking longer than we thought! It requires a couple of days to dry and a couple of coats of paint.  So, NEXT week we'll have pictures with our chalkboard! :)
